第1条. 本修业规章，适用于102学年度起入学之亚际文化研究国际硕士学位学程(台湾联合大学系统)学生。
The following by-law is applicable to students who are entrolled in the International Master’s Program in Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, University System of Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as the Program) in or after academic year 2013.
第2条. 入学资格Admission Requirement
经教育部认可之国内外大学毕业，获得学士学位或同等学力，经申请程序与审查通过者，得进入本硕士学位学程修读。
The Program admits students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
第3条. 修业年限Duration of Study
本学程硕士班最高修业年限为四年，在职进修研究生得延长一年。
Students must complete their study within four years of registration; on-the-job students may extend the duration to one more year.
第4条. 修读课程及学分Curriculum and Course Requirement
本学程硕士生除「论文」之外，修业总学分为24学分。毕业学分之修课规范如下：
M.A. students in the program must complete 24 credits of coursework, excluding the thesis. Course requirement is as follows:
1. 必修课程「亚际文化研究导论」3学分、「论文研究方法」3学分。详细课名请见当学期课表。
Required Courses: Introduction to Inter-Asia Cultural Studies (3 credits) and Research Methodology and Thesis writing (3 credits); exact course titles will be listed in course schedule each semester.
2. 专业领域选修9学分：学生应根据其研究发展方向，于本学程之「批判理论与亚洲现代性」、「当代思潮与社会运动」、「性/别研究」、「视觉文化」、「媒体与文化治理」重点研究群中选定一专业领域，并选修至少9学分。
Students are required to choose one specialty area from the four major research concentrations in the Program--“Critical Theory and Asian Modernity,” “Contemporary Thought-trends and Social Movements,” “Gender/Sexuality Studies,”Visual Culture Studies”and “Media and Cultural Governance”--and take at least 9 credits in that chosen concentration.
3. 选修学程外课程，纳入毕业学分计算以9学分为上限，需获指导教授或导师签名同意，并由各校办公室核备。
Upon approval by the adviser or Program Coordinator, students may take courses outside the Program; maximum 9 credits can be considered for transfer for IACS-UST graduate programs.
4. 重考或重新申请入学，依照法令规定先修读学分后考取修读学位之研究生，得依各校规定酌情抵免。
For students re-admitted to the Program after a period of absence, courses taken prior to the re-admission may be recognized according to corresponding University regulations.
第5条. 指导教授Thesis Advisor
1. 学生于第三学期结束前选定论文指导教授，填具指导教授申请单，由各校办公室主任核定后缴回学程办公室。学生在论文过程中若需更换指导教授，应依照同一程序重新提出申请。
Upon completion of three semesters of coursework, students may obtain Thesis Advisor Agreement Form from the Program Office, secure the signature of the chosen advisor, and submit the form for approval by Program Coordinator. The same procedure applies to change of thesis supervisor.
2. 学生若有跨校指导需求，须由注册学校专任助理教授(含)以上教师担任共同指导老师。
Cross-university advising require a co-advisor from student’s registered university.
3. 研究生之论文指导教授以本学程助理教授以上担任为原则，学生论文需请本学程以外之助理教授以上担任指导教授者，需经学程委员会议同意。
As a principle, Program faculty members at and above the rank of assistant professor can serve as thesis advisors. Advisors from institutions outside the UST may be allowed upon approval by the Program Committee.
第6条. 论文提案M.A. Thesis proposal review
1. 本学程硕士生修满18学分时得申请论文计画提案审查，论文得以中文或英文撰写。
Master students who have completed 18 credits can apply for thesis proposal review. Thesis may be written in Chinese or English.
2. 本学程研究生应于论文计画提案审查三周前，提出经指导教授签字同意之硕士论文计划书。
Students should turn in their thesis proposal, signed and approved by their advisor, three weeks prior to the thesis proposal review.
3. 审查委员由指导教授与办公室主任协调二人（含以上）担任，指导教授为当然委员，并由学程办公室于口试至少一周前公布时间、地点及论文题目。
The thesis proposal review committee is composed of two faculty members of relevant expertise, selected by the advisor and the Program Coordinator, with the advisor serving as ex-officio member. The Program Office will announce the time, place, and thesis topic to be reviewed at least one week prior to the review date.
4. 论文计画审查通过后至少三个月，方得进行硕士学位考试。
An interval of three months is required between approval of thesis proposal and the official degree examination.
第7条. 学位考试Degree Examination
1. 申请学位考试需于各校规定时间内办理。缴交歷年成绩表、论文初稿、论文提要、指导教授推荐函、学位考试委员名册及学位考试申请表各一份。
Application to take the degree examination must be submitted to the Program Office before the deadline specified on the academic calendar of respective universities. Required documents include: one copy of official transcript, one copy of the thesis including an abstract, one recommendation letter from the thesis advisor, Degree Examination Committee member list, as well as the Thesis Defense Application Form.
2. 学位考试依台联大系统各校硕士班学位考试规定。
The degree examination is conducted in accordance with respective University Regulations on Master's Degree Examinations.
3. 学位考试需备论文相似度比对报告，以供考试委员学位考试时参考。相似度比对原则，依各校区规定办理。国立清华大学及国立阳明交通大学硕士班学生，论文相似度以低于30%为原则。如因特殊情况导致论文相似度高于(含)30%，请另提书面说明以供考试委员审酌处理。
The students should prepare the Turnitin Report before the degree examination. The similarity of the paper is based on the principal of respective campus Regulations on Master's Degree Examinations. For the students who registered in NYCU and NTHU, the similarity of the paper is based on the principal of less than 30%. If the similarity is higher than 30% due to special circumstances, please provide written explanation for the examination committee to consider.
4. 国立阳明交通大学（交大校区）学生适用该校研究生学位授予作业规章第四条之艺术类硕士班学生硕士论文得以作品、成就证明连同书面报告或以技术报告代替。代替硕士论文之认定范围、资料型式、内容项目及其他相关事项之准则，依教育部规定。
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Chiao Tung Campus) ‘s student applicable to the regulations for Conferral of Graduate Degrees Article 4: A master’s student in art may submit his/her work, a certificate of achievements and a written report or technical report as his/her thesis. A certificate of achievements and a written report, technical
report or professional practice report as his/her thesis shall be in accordance with the
requirements of the Ministry of Education.
第8条. 学位授予Awarding the Degree
完成硕士学位应修课程及学分，提出论文，经硕士学位考试委员会考试通过者，授予学籍所在校之硕士学位。
Student who has completed the required master's degree curriculum and credits, submitted the thesis, and passed the review by the master's examination committee shall be awarded the master's degree by the university in which the student is registered.
第9条. 本学程硕士班研究生在规定修业年限内未能通过学位考试，或未能完成应修课程及学分者，应令退学。
Student who failed to pass the degree examination or complete the required master's degree curriculum and credits within required duration of study is advised to withdraw from the university.
第10条. 本规章未尽事宜，均依学生学籍所属学校之「学则」、「硕士学位及博士学位授予作业规章」及相关规定办理。
All matters not covered by the present by-law shall follow other existing rules in respective universities.
第11条. 本修业办法由台联大文化研究国际中心行政会议订定，经台联大系统各校课程委员会审查，再送台联大系统各校教务会议核备后实施，修订时亦同。
This by-law is passed by the IICS-UST committee and Course Committee Meeting of member universities of the UST; the same procedure applies to all amendments.
