Abstract:
In the past decade, many researchers have addressed the intersection between social movements and collective memories. Social movements can become the objects of collective memories, while collective memories can shape the dynamic evolution of social movements. Meanwhile, both social movements and collective memories are subjected to the influence of changes in the political environment. Using Hong Kong as the case, the talk will discuss existing studies as well as future research directions concerning the memory-movement nexus.
